Bury St Edmunds is the largest town in West Suffolk and the town the council works from, but the district reaches a long way past it. Newmarket sits on the Cambridgeshire edge and runs on racing. Haverhill is further south again and looks to Cambridge. Mildenhall, Brandon and Lakenheath are out on the Brecks, and Clare, Ixworth, Great Barton, Barrow, Risby and Exning are the villages between.

The Bury St Edmunds Post reports what the record shows across all of it. Planning decisions, licensing, council spending, crime figures, sold prices. West Suffolk Council publishes the evidence, and we go through it and write down what is in it with a link back to the original.
