Over 50 stalls of local crafts and gifts at the Athenaeum on Angel Hill, on Sundays 25 October and 22 November, 10am to 4pm. Free entry, refreshments served.
The Christmas Craft and Gift Fair is coming back to the Athenaeum on Angel Hill twice this autumn: on Sunday 25 October and again on Sunday 22 November 2026, both from 10am to 4pm. Each fair has more than 50 stalls of local crafts, handmade goods and gifts, and admission is free.
The fairs are run by Crafted Events, which wrote to us about their return. “The fairs have become a very popular fixture with the local community and are a wonderful opportunity to support small independent businesses, local craftspeople and makers in the run-up to Christmas,” Tracy of Crafted Events said.
The two dates
| Fair | Date | Time | Entry |
|---|---|---|---|
| First Christmas fair | Sunday 25 October 2026 | 10am to 4pm | Free |
| Second Christmas fair | Sunday 22 November 2026 | 10am to 4pm | Free |
Both are at the Athenaeum, Angel Hill, and the organiser gives the satnav postcode as IP33 1LY. Refreshments are available at both.
The October date falls on the Sunday before the school half term, which runs from 26 to 30 October; our half-term listings cover the rest of that week.

What the organiser says
Both fairs, Crafted Events says, “will feature over 50 stalls, with a fabulous assortment of local crafts, handmade products and unique gifts, making them ideal for anyone looking for something a little different for Christmas.”
The organiser puts as much weight on the traders as on the shoppers. “These events always have a lovely festive atmosphere and are very well supported by the general public,” Tracy wrote. “As well as offering a great day out, they provide an important opportunity for local and independent traders to showcase their businesses at one of the busiest shopping times of the year.”
Of the venue: “The fairs are held in the beautiful Athenaeum on Angel Hill, right in the heart of Bury St Edmunds, and admission is completely free.”

Who sells there
The fair’s page on the Crafted Events website carries a gallery of featured crafters and gift sellers. When we checked it on 27 September 2026 it listed, among others, Arela of Norfolk (hand-crafted ceramics, including baubles, bells and bird feeders), Judy Jones Pottery, Aulwynd Bindery (a Suffolk bookbinder making handmade journals and stationery), Proche Textile Art (a Suffolk textile artist selling silk and cotton scarves and cushions), Glassgirlies (fused glass for home and garden), Gertie’s bee kind candles (beeswax candles), Genevieve Wood (chopping, serving and olive boards), Designs on Silk, The English Spirit Distillery, Time To Go Natural (homemade beauty products) and the Suffolk crime novelist Pauline Manders.
That gallery is the organiser’s showcase of makers who have taken part. The page does not say which of them will be at each of the 2026 dates, so if you are going for one stall in particular, ask Crafted Events first.
